Follow Friday (21)

This week's question:

Have you ever had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke up" with later on in either the series or stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

I'm going to hop on the bandwagon with this one and say Edward Cullen. When I first started reading Twilight I sadly was one of those girls who LOVED Edward. Brooding vampire, rock hard body, sweet protectiveness- it all just added up to one easy heart throb for me. Then as time passed, the story progressed, and I got my wits about me. I soon realized, Edward is actually a category one creeper.

He freakishly watches Bella as she sleeps, without her knowledge (forget about permission). He's technically like a bazillion years old, making him the sexiest pervert ever. He steps pass 'over protective' and becomes a vampiric dictator. He showers Bella with presents as if that makes up for the far that he wants to kill her all the time. Constantly toys with her emotions- first by telling her he doesn't love her to try and keep her safe and then duping her into marrying him as his only condition of changing her intoAnd then, he tries to pimp out his wife just so she can have a baby.

So you can see why I say, forget sparkly vamps, give me Jacob with the motorbikes any day.

  2. Edward pretty much defines freaky creeper stalker. YUCK. I fell off the Twilight bandwagon a long time ago. Now when I hear young girls squealing over how sexy & fab Edward is, I want to hide in a cave somewhere. Either that or introduce her to some REAL swoon-worthy YA men...

  3. Haha good answer! If I were to reread Twilight I'd feel the same way. 'Watching her while she sleeps, what!?' Yep lol.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Yeah, I never understood the whole Edward thing. But I read all four books in a week, so I didn't have much time between meeting him and discovering all of his creepiness. Old follower! My Follow

  5. Haha!I completely agree with you, though I was more disappointed with how Edward left before I started to clue in on the creeper stuff!

  6. I'm one of those freaks who still loves Edward - despite his flaws *lol* (I do think he's a creepy stalker, but his intentions are good and I take them for what they are...)

  7. Great answer ! :)
I liked Edward at first too, but when I started to see reviews about how creepy Edward was, I gave it a thought and realized how right those reviews were.

  11. I'm an Edward fan (never liked Jacob) but Edward definitely was stalker like in Twilight and his need to protect Bella drove me insane because it was way over the top.

  15. hahahaha yes I agree. I was sad they cut out of the movie the part where Edward pimps her out to Jacob to have a baby. That was awesome. I always loved Jacob.

  16. A few people said him this week. I admit, I rather the Edward on pages than on the Screen, but I do like Rob Patterson acting in other movies.
